💫 001 ; morning of the 8th.

Now that school’s out and we’ve got the summer all to ourselves how’s about kicking it off the right way… with a backyard BBQ. On the 19th I’m hosting a big ass get together and you’re all invited. That’s right, all of you, ‘cause it wouldn’t be a party if there weren’t a shitload of people everywhere. FYI, it’s a potluck, [ surprise? ] so bring a little something to share with the class. Don’t care what it is, to be honest, as long as we have something to eat alongside all the beef, chicken, fish, hotdogs, sausage, and kabobs… because who the hell doesn’t like saying that.

Bring a bathing suit ‘cause I have a pool with a slide and, if you’re feeling adventurous, a trampoline. [ maybe he should consider having everybody sign a waiver on the way in… ]

( ooc; there is going to be a party at the peter household on the 19th, which is also when a plot related shitstorm is going to happen. characters MIGHT die at the party and now we know why. there's a possibility that attendees may get attacked by animals ( or friends ) but if you'd like to avoid that they can certainly bang out early. i’m going to see about getting the log up asap… and by asap i mean this weekend. )

I need to make sure I’ve got a little something for everybody, ‘cause who knows what people are into these days. [ but, yeah, it might sound like a bit much. ] Potato salad? [ the inflection of his own voice should tell jefferson that he’s not sure either. ] What are you good at making?

Ah... [ What is he good at making? He can cook, certainly, but it's pretty much been limited to the basics. ] Salads-- but not potato salads-- finger sandwiches, scones... bread... [ AN AWKWARD PAUSE. ] Cookies? [ That's potentially party food! ]

I don't have any specialties, but I can follow a recipe.

I mean a regular salad is cool too. [ ok, maybe not cool, but acceptable. he’s sure jefferson could jazz it up. ] My neighbor’s making a stir fry, but that’s about all the non-meat stuff we’ve got at the moment. [ but speaking of meat he should pick up some bacon. ] What’s a scone? [ nevermind. ] But, uh, hey, sure! cookies is fine… better than fine, actually. Who doesn’t love a good cookie?

That makes two of us. I’m no chef, but I can wing it when it comes to grilling.

You don't know what a scone is? What do you have with your tea? [ YEAH, THAT'S HIS TAKEAWAY FROM ALL THAT. ]

No? [ stop judging him for not knowing what a scone is. ] Nothing, I'm not much of a tea drinker. [ and by not much he means he doesn't drink tea at all. ]

Oh. [ WOMP WOMP. ] Well... then I could bring scones. It'd be something new and different.

[ Okay, fine, maybe scones aren't good... backyard bbq food. All that meat... ] Or cookies. Let's stick with cookies.

If you bring scones, then aren't you going to have to bring tea? [ it sounded like they went hand and hand, but, wait, no, this backyard party wasn't going to turn into some hoity toity tea... thing. ]

Next time. [ unlikely. ] I'm taking you up on your scones. [ that sounded a little bit weird, but he brushed it off. ] Cookies it is... and I gotta ask. Are you a vegetarian? Do you want me to make sure there's some non meat entity there for you?
