With you, I like to think I don't need to have a talk with a grown man over a seven-year-old's ability to make informed choices when talking about herself. Especially in a town that's pretty restrictive about that kind of thing.

[ He really doesn't mean to be a hardass. Frank read the whole conversation with Mary, and it was perfectly innocent. He's just not sure the people who wrote those signs will agree. Despite his forays into Weaver's, it's enough to keep him wanting to hunker down with her. ]

Your point is rather compelling. I'd like to think minors wouldn't be involved in all that, but who am I kidding?

[ It's a misstep for sure. Roman's not clear on why he'd make it, either, considering he's been in this town... for a long time. So it feels, anyway. Something about it is still raw, though, and he doesn't want to get a child in trouble over his own confusion. ]

Nah, the everyman is just another flavor of politician and can still get you into trouble besides. Fred just doesn't have a hidden agenda.
