Hello again, Wayward Pines. You've had a couple of days now to work through the things we explained to you on Thursday. Now, we're opening the floor to you — for your questions, and hopefully to begin the dialogue that will help all of us figure out how to peacefully coexist.

This is the interaction portion of the public address posted last week! While all approaches are welcomed, the post is ICly intended to address questions/concerns and to reach an agreement (or realize that an agreement can't be reached).

In fact, we didn't. The generation and distribution of memories is handled by a semi-autonomous virtual intelligence system. We don't have the sort of manpower to facilitate that level of large-scale corroboration.

I myself am not altogether versed with the technicalities of it, but I'm more than willing to request more information on your behalf.

Do it. I'm not the only one looking for answers about the memories. Guess that explains how those memories could match up with my actual age and yet no one thought to keep the incredibly old guy awake for the whole process to help out.

What are the odds of releasing all your current research and results for public record?

We're more than willing to release our research to qualifying individuals in relevant fields. At current, there are entirely too many people with a drive to problem-solve but only passable training or education on the necessary subjects, and that could prove a dangerous environment to turn loose advanced research notes into.

Do you have any specific questions on the memory formation process for me to request clarification on?

Although I don't have a doctorate, I'd like to step up and prove I can take a look at those. [ He's pretty aces at anything that isn't biology, and even then... ]

How deep is this thing in our heads? Does it have any sort of power in the town itself to set up identities if you don't have a say in how it forms those memories? Not everyone was going back to the hospital each month as we were being woken up, but people remember each other. Is it still on in us?

The implants are affixed along the your medial temporal cortices, approximately just along the inside edge of the hippocampi. From there, a synthetic neural network traces along your real one, forward through the left medial and ventrolateral prefrontal cortices, out through the lateral temporal cortices, and up into the temperoparietal junctions.

If I'm understanding properly, the formation process for all autobiographic memory routes through this synthetic nervous system at multiple points, in order to simulate natural memory formation and all of the trappings and associations that come with it rather than simply an independent memory fragment dropped aimlessly into your long-term storage.

The implants 'check in' with our system, so to speak, for monthly maintenance. This explains the updates as each group of individuals are integrated into the town.
