[There's not a lot of warning. They'll be covering the town and going full-blown attack mode in just a few minutes.

It's another reminder, hearing you, but she can't let it distract her right now.

I'm going to try and get home, see what's going on with Pepper and Tony. Get my visor; the glasses aren't as good.

If you're going to go out, make sure you head for someplace. Otherwise, they might end up cornering you before you know it.

[Clearly, she's the best strategist. But the Logan way of doing things is to just launch at them.]

I can confirm that this is true.

I can ALSO confirm that they may be strong enough to break through doors, so try to remain unseen, unheard, and downwind if at all possible.

[She listens patiently; any information helps, and she has to control herself from rushing out just yet.

She squeezes the phone in her hand, hard. Plastic creaks.]

They don't like fire. Heat. And unless you're somehow stronger than a baseline human, blunt force isn't going to do you much good.

[Laura considers that. Well, fire isn't going to happen with her, but.]

I have blades.

[Very good claws that slide through people like butter.

She has a feeling it'll be pretty effective on these, even if they're subhuman.]

[ Well, he's feeling pretty glad for his cell phone right about now. Steve's been keeping an eye on this one after their parallel warnings to the town last month — only an eye, because all attempts to communicate about it would've only ended in him passing out in front of her — and given what he knows, there's no room to doubt her. ]

[ He has it in mind to protect her, of course, but it will also tell him where he needs to be regardless, and it's not at this pool party.

(In a few minutes, he'll figure out that's not exactly the case.) ]

[Hi, teacher. She gives pause to listen to the creaking sounds of the beasts on the roof.

Maybe if she didn't remember so much, she'd be afraid. But -- she's not. Her memories don't let her.]

[He's gone, so that means she needs to make sure this house stays safe. Not just for the other girls living here, but for her dad's memory, even if it makes her chest hurt.]

[ Is he still her teacher if she never comes to class? The perennial tree falling in a forest, but— he's definitely listening. She hasn't asked for help, and he imagines there's a reason for that, one that he's not supposed to ask about, and now can't. ]

[ He doesn't need to ask where there is. He lives right across the street, even if he's a little farther away at the moment.
