phonecall. 19th, 3:57pm, a warning.
[The phone will ring at 3:57 — and if one's lucky, they may get the heads up before they go outside.
Maybe.
Most of you may be well and truly screwed, but Laura's at least determined to try and not let the people here die.]
They are monsters. They're monsters, and they're fast. Close your windows! Don't open the door!
No vayas fuera — ! Don't go outside; the screams are monsters.
[There's not a lot of warning. They'll be covering the town and going full-blown attack mode in just a few minutes.
But Laura is at least content to help even one person with those precious minutes.
... She doesn't want to lose anymore people.]

[She remembers so much, Scott. She remembers what happened — before the Pines.
It's another reminder, hearing you, but she can't let it distract her right now.
What Would Logan Do?]
But I need to go back out; I can help.

I'm going to try and get home, see what's going on with Pepper and Tony. Get my visor; the glasses aren't as good.
If you're going to go out, make sure you head for someplace. Otherwise, they might end up cornering you before you know it.

[Clearly, she's the best strategist. But the Logan way of doing things is to just launch at them.]
But I'll keep moving.
[So that's at least good, even if she's disconcertingly not afraid of getting cut.]

I can confirm that this is true.
I can ALSO confirm that they may be strong enough to break through doors, so try to remain unseen, unheard, and downwind if at all possible.

She squeezes the phone in her hand, hard. Plastic creaks.]
Have you fought one?

They don't like fire. Heat. And unless you're somehow stronger than a baseline human, blunt force isn't going to do you much good.

I have blades.
[Very good claws that slide through people like butter.
She has a feeling it'll be pretty effective on these, even if they're subhuman.]

Where are you?
[ He has it in mind to protect her, of course, but it will also tell him where he needs to be regardless, and it's not at this pool party.
(In a few minutes, he'll figure out that's not exactly the case.) ]

[Hi, teacher. She gives pause to listen to the creaking sounds of the beasts on the roof.
Maybe if she didn't remember so much, she'd be afraid. But -- she's not. Her memories don't let her.]
I can't let them come in. Esta es mi casa. It's -- It's Dad's house.
[He's gone, so that means she needs to make sure this house stays safe. Not just for the other girls living here, but for her dad's memory, even if it makes her chest hurt.]

I'm headed your way.
[ He doesn't need to ask where there is. He lives right across the street, even if he's a little farther away at the moment.
Steve doesn't wait for an answer, just hangs up. ]

❰ god, she hopes not. demons are scary, but they're also the only kind of monster she really knows what to do with and that means she's gonna have to actually do something about them. ❱

I do not — know demons. Do they have them, too?
